STOKE RESCUE SAFETY GROUP

We have been providing Rescue and Medical cover to Motor Sport for over thirty years. Initially as Stoke Auto Rescue under the direction of David Lees and then when he retired from the sport in 1995 the Auto was dropped as other than motor sport events were covered.

With the death of Alan Bennett who had formed Staffs Rescue they were amalgamated with Stoke Rescue to form Stoke Rescue Safety Group.
Stoke Rescue Safety Group have two MSA licensed Rescue Ambulances and they still come with the original call signs Stoke and Staffs.

The Leader of the group is Nigel Bailey and he has a crew of eleven MSA Licensed personnel to call upon. He has a Rescue Trainee who is attending events in 2010 with a view to having obtained his licence by January 2011.
Others interested are welcome.
George Bailey is the administrator for the group with responsibilities for bookings, organising crew and bookkeeping.

All crew members are trained in first aid including the use of AEDs (Defibrillators) and also to use the hydraulic cutting gear the units carry which is used for Extraction purposes.

As with any motor vehicle they do need to be replaced from time to time and in August 2009 we purchased a 4 x 4 Sprinter Van which has now been converted into a Rescue Ambulance at a cost of over £22,000.00. This will replace the Sprinter Ambulance which came from the Scottish Ambulance service five years ago.

Funds to pay for replacement units come from regular donations for attendance at events, other donations from clubs and individuals who value our service and from the Motor Sports Association
