Wales Rally GB (WRGB) - Training Sat. 4th October 2008 Advance notification of the above Training Session - please check your diaries and keep free. The above WRGB Training Session will take place on Saturday 4th October at the following venue:- Co-op Social Club Map Reference:- 111/559.75 042.5 The Training Session will relate totally to the safe and smooth running of the forthcoming Wales Rally GB and more specifically SS2/5 (Sweet Lamb) on Friday 5th December 2008. Many of you have already kindly offered to assist on the above stage which will be a new challenge for us all. It is anticipated that the session will commence around 09:30 with a briefing at approximately 10:00, and lunch around 12:30 - the formalities of the day concluding mid afternoon. It is hoped that some 'non classroom' based activities will take place e.g. a demonstration by a rescue/recovery unit dismantling a donor car in order to remove casualties from it. This type of demonstration was provided a couple of years ago and proved valuable to all attendees. Following the training session
that was held in late 2007 at the above location, I made it known that
in order to encourage more interest we really must make the Training
sessions more varied and interesting and the organising team have taken
my/our comments on board. This Training Session will appear on the WRGB web site and no doubt in the Marshals Newsletter in an attempt to boost the numbers. The Training will be led by Ian Howells (Training Officer - WRGB) together with some additional assistance. Please put the date in your diary and I hope to meet you then. |
