Introduction to Rally Marshalling
– Aimed at newcomers, together with some practical incident training, over views of how a
rally is organised and run, plus the student's MSA License application
countersigned and stamped.
In Stage Marshal – Aimed at those undertaking in stage duties or Sector Marshal duties.
Again this is classroom based so as to cover stage setup, stage safety,
spectator control, a First Aid over view, how Rescue Units operate, an overview
of the MSA Safety & Medical frequency (rally radio), plus practical incident
training.
Timing
– As experienced rally timing officials you almost certainly have a good
grounding in rally timing and equipment, however there’s always something new.
These sessions besides covering all the basic areas of event timing, time
controls, Arrivals, Start, Flying Finish and Stop, also provide ‘hands on’
sessions with all the timing equipment commonly used in the UK. Additionally
there are usually brief overviews of subjects previously mentioned under In
Stage Marshal and also in Radio.
Radio
– The history, why, Radio Agency rules, positive & negative reporting, ‘A’
system, ‘B’ system, 81, and RalliTrak are all covered, plus overviews of timing,
first aid, practical incident training and practical radio training are all
covered.
Senior Stage Officials
– Definitely the most classroom based, covering in some detail the Blue Book,
legal responsibilities, Health & Safety requirements, stage set up, timing,
major incidents, roles & responsibilities, inter-personal skills, leadership to
name but a few of the subjects, though participants usually also get to have a
go at the practical incident training. A course aimed at Stage Commanders,
Deputy Stage Commanders, Stage Safety Officers, Spectator Safety Officers, or
those aspiring to these roles.
As in 2006 we will also be providing a Practical Fire
Training Session at the majority of venues in 2008, this training gives marshals
valuable experience that can be transferred to the workplace.
